POSITION SUMMARY
The role of a Service Technician I directly supports the company's mission by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of wind turbine generators, which are integral to producing 100% renewable energy. The Service Technician I is responsible for performing turbine maintenance and operational tasks in accordance with high safety standards.
The role collaborates closely with the operational and back‑office teams to ensure a high level of availability in the wind farm, supporting strong service performance for our customers and contributing to the company’s future growth.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on wind turbines and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to support reliable turbine performance.
- Follow safety procedures, including LOTO, hazard assessments, and proper use of PPE.
- Complete maintenance reports, service documentation, and work orders accurately.
- Support 24/7 wind farm operations, including on-call, overtime, and rotating shift coverage.
- Assist with equipment inspections, root cause analysis, and system upgrades.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and required certifications.
- Work closely with site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
WHAT YOU HAVE
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of technical training, experience, and safety certifications.
- Wind, electrical, mechanical, or technical education/certification is an asset.
- 0 to 1 year of wind industry experience preferred.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working at heights over 300 feet (100 meters) and lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Ability to travel for training and support at other sites as needed.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
- Ability to work in Canada without sponsorship and travel to the U.S. for onboarding and training.

- Properly use applicable safety equipment, including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a safe working environment.
- Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.
The pay for this role is non-exempt at $35 - $40 CAD hourly with up to a 5% bonus. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
