Position Summary:
As a Tooling Specialist, you will be responsible for the inventory, calibration and control of construction and commissioning tooling and PPE and manage and coordinate all the activities related to the maintenance and transportation of tools to and from the wind farms.
Responsibilities:

Assists with the development of ongoing improvement of parts and tooling management.

Trains site personnel on proper operation procedures of specialized tooling.

Evaluates new tooling needs and arrange for purchase based on changes to installation manuals and cost improvement initiatives.

Evaluates and collaborates with accounting department to determine if tooling purchases qualify for Capital treatment and create Capital approvals as needed.

Reviews and analyzes potential contracts with third parties for tooling.

Responds for spare part planning and inventory to support new construction projects.

Processes requisitions and ensure success of purchase order process for department necessities, addressing specific stakeholders responsible for purchasing, logistics, and receptions of requested goods and services.

Provides tooling cost analysis (current, new and lost tooling)

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or tools engineering preferred, combination of education and related experience will be considered.

2+ years of professional experience in comparable positions.

Self-starting and ability to complete task with little direction

Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in MS office applications (i.e.: Word, Excel, Power Point, Share Point)

Process development and/or technical writing experience

Strong ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics to develop procedures, validate work activity and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated.

Prefer well rounded technical background and strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to understand financial impacts of daily decisions
-
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Demonstrated ability/experience working in constantly changing environment
