Position Summary:
As the Tender Manager, you will be working together with the local Sales team representing the Project Management organization throughout the tender and contract negotiation process. Your focus will be on risk mitigation and project execution topics such as scheduling, logistic studies, cost calculations, contractual interfaces, etc. You will also provide support to management during the pre-tender process starting from evaluating/ assessing tenders, assessing risk factors to arrive at bid decisions, and estimating all the required material, equipment, and manpower needs to be able to arrive at reliable cost estimates for bidding project.
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the local Sales organization as well as relevant functions within the Project Management team and other departments throughout the various stages of tender and contract negotiation with a focus on project execution topics such as scheduling, logistic studies, cost calculations, contractual interfaces, etc.
- Provides risk review and evaluation to the internal Sales project review process (Sales Gate Process) and ensure active transfer of risk mitigation measures to the customer contract negotiations.
- Provides cost calculations for project execution related topics such as WTG installation, crane works, logistics and, for wind farm infrastructure such as roads, foundations and electrical infrastructure as needed.
- Conducts site surveys to check conditions of accessibility in close coordination with the PM logistics department.
- Provides conceptual planning and preparation of projects during the Sales phase in order to facilitate a smooth transfer into project operations.
- Tenders and contracts negotiation of infrastructure services for Turnkey Projects (if applicable) in close coordination with the central Turnkey Management team.
- Represents the Nordex organization to our clients – creating a good relationship with the client and delivering customer satisfaction.
- Participates in customer contract negotiation.
- Liaises with other Nordex departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Service and Legal during tendering phase.

Requirements:
- Bachelors or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in comparable positions including full responsibility for multi-million-dollar contracts with strong commercial and financial knowledge.
- Project management experience necessary (preferably in the wind energy sector and/or in turnkey construction projects).
- Good knowledge of the local regulations and legal requirements regarding construction works and HS&E.
- Strong interface thinking approach.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proactive, able to think critically and independently.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Professional and courteous demeanor.
- Strong software skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Sap & Microsoft Projects preferred.
- Ability to travel 25% within USA, CAD and Germany.
- Driver’s license required.
- Ability to get a valid passport.
- Fluency in German and/ or Spanish is a plus
- Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
