Position Summary:
As a Senior Director of Project Execution, you will be responsible for developing and directing the strategic planning of multiple projects and overseeing all execution-related topics, end to end, to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, to a high standard. Furthermore, The Senior Director will provide leadership to strategically manage risk, monitor finances, and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time along with the management of a team of multi-discipline team (logistics, constructions, and commissioning). The successful candidate will have experience in project management, leadership skills, and financial management skills. The Senior Director of Project Execution is a critical role that will contribute to the success of the organization by ensuring the timely and high-quality completion of multiple projects.
Responsibilities:

Leads the Project Management, Construction, Commissioning, Quality Execution, and Logistics Execution teams so that Projects are accomplished as per the Clients and the organization's expectations.

Organizes the team and creates action plans and timetables aligned with the company’s strategy and guiding principles and customer requirements and expectations.

Ensures compliance with project commercial requirements including invoicing, managing tax-related issues, VAT, and claims management.

Controls local costs, realization of subcontracts, and related purchase orders.
-
Defines and implements technical solutions in cooperation with the Engineering Department.
-
Implements reporting system to monitor project status (customer, financial, safety, resources, and production) closely.

Provides continuous feedback and improvements for discrepancies in design and delivery, internally and externally.

Refines policies and processes to further streamline the project execution process to ensure competitiveness and enhance margins.

Negotiates with sub-contractors, contractors, engineering, construction, and transportation firms for installation services resulting in purchase agreements, contracts and competitive pricing.

Coordinates logistics requirements across competing project needs.

Selects, trains, develops, coaches motivates, and conducts performance reviews for the team.

Ensure and guarantee that the site teams in Canada and USA, proactively work on:
-
Track and record all the relevant site activities along with the evidence, and also share the corresponding information with any relevant stakeholder (organization, customer, contractors, others)
-
Support the Customer and the Contractors during the Construction phase
-
Ensure that WTGs are installed and operated with the highest quality standard and availability from the early stage.

Develops successful collaboration and coordination with production and delivery worldwide for all project issues; forecasts future needs related to projects by being up to date on industry and economic developments

Ensure that all project on-site activities comply with general Nordex QHSE regulations and specific QHSE regulations for construction sites.

Contract and relationship management of the Subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers, delivering their scope of work on site.

Manage the relationship with the Customer at the site level in alignment with the PM.
-
Ensure compliance on the execution of Customer and subcontractors’ contracts and other relevant stakeholders (i.e. project basis).

Represents Nordex within the industry

Travels to project sites, contractors, and customer meetings required (25% - 50% travel)
-
Act and manage your activities based on the Safety principles indicated in Nordex QHSE Policy, establishing that activities/actions referred to HSE shall have priority over those of quality, cost, and schedule. Responsible for ensuring that the commitment to HSE is evident in the workplace and has overall responsibility and accountability for the effective implementation and administration of the field HSE Management system.

HSE: Ensure fulfillment of health, safety, environment, and technical requirements at the wind farm site, including daily HSE briefings and inductions. Comply with and ensure all managed personnel and subcontractors comply with the requirements contained in the health and safety plan and any other safety or environmental directive or regulation applicable to the project. As the Construction Manager you can intervene, stop, and even prohibit the ongoing construction if he detects an immediate danger on site; also, address any (sub)contracted worker from continuing to work in case of inadequate handling of WT’s components or anticipated damages of the same. Notify and take immediate measures upon the detection of any risk, issue, or problem. Ensure that the project complies with general Nordex HSE regulations and local statutory HSE in the respective country. Responsible for the safety of the project team and all subcontractors on site as well as other stakeholders affected by his work. Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) has to be worn at all times and inspected frequently before usage to guarantee a safe workspace. Perform Safety Walks & Talks per set targets. All hazards, near-miss events, accidents, and incidents shall be reported immediately, but within 24 hours.

Quality: Ensure compliance with all quality standards and legislation always with a focus on a smooth handover of the WT/WF to the customer and Service. Report quality deviations occurring during installation, which can cause damage to personnel, environment, or property. Always ensure adherence to quality processes, including opening ServiceNow tickets /non-conformity reports (NCR). Create possible derogation/engineering approval Service Now

Update the V1/G4 Calculation with Risk/opportunities and contingencies Present the project forecast review focused on CM changes, R&O & LDs, cash collection and TCD categories assignment

Projects deep dive (if applicable)

Weekly project meeting

A weekly update of installation progress (information used for reporting in GOMM & GMM

Weekly operational plan update

Operational planning Monthly release (project schedule review)

Analyze the customer punch list and the internal punch list before the customer handover

Handover from PM to Service HO process (document collection and provision as well as support for remaining punches)

Conduct a handover meeting with the customer

Coordinate the Monthly Lessons learned meetings

Support to Operations Team (At a Regional Level):

Support the Operations team in the preparation and execution of the projects.

Follow up the projects, focusing on risk and opportunities management and deviations.

Ensure the execution of the Project close-out process in Canada.

Ensure the execution of the Handover process from SM to Service in Canada.
-
Gather the Lessons Learnt for Site Management.
-
Ensure timely and accurate use of UPVISE on all the Sites.
-

In exceptional circumstances and on demand due to project needs or sudden absence of a Site Manager, to take over the site manager's responsibilities or to delegate the responsibility to other team member.

Ensure that all project on-site activities comply with general Nordex QHSE regulations and specific QHSE regulations for construction sites.

Contract and relationship management of the Subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers, delivering their scope of work on site.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline required (or equivalent work experience); advanced degree a plus
-
8+ years of experience in Wind Project Management or Wind Project Operations (construction, logistics, commissioning) as manager or head.

Project Management Certifications or equivalent work experience.
-
Management and leadership experience required.

Excellent relationship-building skills.

Ability to adapt to a growing, fast-paced, global organization

Extensive travel required between headquarters, training center, and projects

Working understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and contract implementation

Fluency in French and Spanish is a plus
