POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Sourcing Manager, PM & Services directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As a Sourcing Manager, PM & Services you will develop and manage strategies to increase supplier value and continue to drive improvements in price, cost to serve, and quality of work. The PM and Services Sourcing Manager will lead supplier identification, screening, and sourcing of various vendors of services to establish a supply base in support of the construction, operations, and maintenance of wind turbines. The PM and Services Sourcing Manager will manage a service sourcing team responsible for consistent, efficient, and effective procurement processes to achieve the best results possible. Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management will be top priorities.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop sourcing strategies to address supply market conditions, technology roadmaps, and service needs and forecasts.
  • Develop potential supplier options by researching and identifying suppliers which provide services for wind turbine operation and maintenance.
  • Screen supplier capabilities including performing organizational, financial, and process capability assessments.
  • Oversee approved supplier list, which includes current labor rats and supplier capabilities.
  • Lead the rigorous RFQ process including clarifying, updating, and/or creating statements of work by coordinating with Engineering, Site, and Project Management, analyzing quote responses, conducting detailed cost analysis, and preparing sourcing recommendations.
  • Lead negotiations and establish final pricing and terms with selected suppliers.
  • Facilitate the First Article process for new PM and Services suppliers.
  • Establish and manage, in collaboration with Quality, a highly effective Supplier Scorecard program to assure company domestic and international suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Drive continuous cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers, processes, and specifications for improvement opportunities.
  • Improve knowledge, continuously, through benchmarking and active participation in industry groups.
  • Contribute to building a flexible world class supply chain to support the most efficient construction, operation, and maintenance of wind turbines.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent work experience.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience required in purchasing/sourcing with at least 2-3 years in a sourcing leadership role, preference for services related to wind turbines construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Strategic sourcing experience including supplier qualification and development.
  • Experience in developing cost models and/or performing detailed cost analysis.
  • Ability to interface with engineering personnel to resolve technical clarifications or exceptions.
  • Strong negotiation and contract development skills.
  • Must demonstrate understanding of international and domestic supplier relations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or German a plus.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
