POSITION SUMMARY
The role of Plant Quality Technician directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. Working together as part of Production Quality Assurance (PQA) team, reporting to PQA Manager, the Plant Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that the incoming goods, in-process and final product meet the established quality standards.
The Plant Quality Technician would work closely with production and different global areas. Your role would be to inspect, audit, analyze, evaluate, accept or reject incoming goods and final product, manage and coordinate quality deviations, problem solving, analyze the root causes and propose improvements, preventive and corrective actions with the main goal to ensure the quality standard defined during the entire process.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and End-of-Line (EOL) inspections to verify compliance with quality standards, technical specifications, and legal requirements.
- Monitor production processes to identify material, component, and assembly quality deviations; support timely resolution to minimize production impact.
- Open, document, and follow up on non-conformities, deviations, and non-compliance reports, ensuring effective corrective actions and closure.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of inspections, test results, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
- Support root cause analysis performed with internal stakeholders and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in collaboration with production, engineering, and other internal stakeholders.
- Communicate and collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues related to received materials and supplier performance.
- Participate in and support activities associated with internal and external audits.
- Operate and interpret measurement and inspection equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, electronic measuring tools).
- Provide technical guidance and quality-related training support to production teams as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of quality and plant objectives.
WHAT YOU HAVE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in quality or Technical Field (preferred).
- 3 years of professional experience in quality control in the manufacturing industry.
- 2 years of professional experience in quality control in wind turbine manufacturing (preferred).
- Solid knowledge of quality inspection techniques and quality standards.
- Understanding of electrical or mechanical systems and components.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and quality management systems (e.g., SAP QM).
- Experience in opening and following up on non-conformities related to the production line.
- Responsible, structured, and independent work approach.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with different departments.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to completing tasks.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership skills,
- Ability to handle constantly changing challenges and quickly adapt to new situations.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical or mechanical schematics.
- Understanding of ISO 9000:2000 Quality System is a plus.
