Position Summary:
The Mobility Specialist will be apart of the Human Resources (People & Culture Team) and will play a crucial role in supporting international transfers to the United States and Canada, collaborating closely with Global Mobility to ensure a seamless transition for incoming employees. This individual will provide comprehensive support throughout the relocation process, including immigration, relocation assistance, cultural orientation, and administrative support.
Responsibilities:
Immigration Support:
- Coordinate with immigration attorneys to obtain necessary work visas and permits.
- Advise employees on visa requirements, application processes, and timelines.
- Provide guidance on immigration-related matters, such as tax implications and social security.
Relocation Assistance:
- Assist employees with housing arrangements, including finding suitable accommodations and negotiating leases.
- Provide information on local schools, healthcare options, and community resources.
- Coordinate with relocation service providers to facilitate the moving process.
Cultural Orientation:
- Develop and deliver cultural orientation programs to help employees acclimate to the U.S. culture and workplace.
- Provide information on cultural differences, customs, and etiquette.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Ensure that incoming employees understand their compensation and benefits packages.
Administrative Support:
- Process necessary paperwork and documentation related to the relocation.
- Maintain accurate records and track the progress of each transfer.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to employees throughout the relocation process.
Global Mobility Collaboration:
- Partner with the Global Mobility team to develop and implement best practices for international transfers.
- Stay informed about global mobility trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Provide input on the development of global mobility policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to company policies related to employee relocation and mobility and provide guidance and support to employees and stakeholders on policy interpretation and application.
- Manage regular project work including the creation and update of assignee documentation, compliance reviews, relocation cost reports, and service initiations with external vendors. Continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and documentation practices.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, International Relations, or a related field or relevant work experience
- Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) certification preferred
- High School diploma required
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a multinational corporate environment, ideally in an in-house global mobility or HR role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Previous experience with accounting, tax compliance or relocation is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple relocations/assignments, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of immigration laws and regulations
- Strong knowledge of visa types
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address complex global mobility challenges effectively.
- Flexible to a wide variety of demands
- Ability to manage vendor relationships
- Strong attention to detail excellent customer service and follow-up required
- Individual contributor who takes initiative and has a proven ability to make sound decisions and prioritize competing responsibilities
- High degree of cultural sensitivity and awareness of cultural considerations in global relocations and assignments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
- Evidence of sound judgment, discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with changes in global mobility regulations and best practices.
- Adaptability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
- Resilience to cope effectively with complexity and change.
- Ability to travel to domestic and international locations to project sites and on business as required with the ability to obtain a passport.
- Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening, including a drug screen.
