Position Summary:

 

Assist the Fleet Manager with responsibility for ordering, registrations, transfer, and disposal of fleet vehicles. Advise and instruct company drivers regarding vehicle policies. Ensure compliance with standard fleet maintenance procedures. Coordinate registration & initial tag and title as well as tag renewals. Performs technical program support work for fleet operations; prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, forms, and documents; compiles and enters data, makes calculations, and prepares reports; and prepares and disseminates information regarding fleet operations.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Fleet Manager in generating and distributing regular reports on fleet performance including, fuel consumption, telematics (transponder usage, speeding, safe driver scores, idling), vehicle maintenance schedules, and other key metrics.
  • Ensure each vehicle is equipped with fuel cards, current insurance information, current registration, and maintenance cards. 
  • Assist drivers with service maintenance locations accepting maintenance cards. Approve maintenance requests for standard maintenances and seek approval for corrective maintenances with the Fleet Manager and budget owners.
  • Ensure vehicle registration matches the correct state when vehicle must be transferred between Nordex sites. Assist Fleet Manager in managing vehicle licensure and registration.
  • Assist in the coordination of vehicle assignments, dispatching, and routing as needed.
  • Monitor vehicle use, fuel consumption, and cost allocations to ensure accurate accounting of costs.   
  • Support drivers in obtaining toll transponders for drivers operating in states with toll roads. Assist Fleet Manager in monitoring Drivers to ensure adherence proper driving practices, this may include the use of telematics and other data reporting procedures.
  • Work with Operational Managers to ensure drivers are performing vehicle inspections and findings are addressed.
  • Assist in supporting Operational Managers to procure vehicle equipment such as fire extinguishers, toolboxes, cones, company branding materials, etc.
  • Make suggestions to improve existing processes including those that impact safe driving behaviors.
  • Entering accurate information into telematics software for vehicles, drivers, locations, time zones and group designations.
  • Communicate federal, state and city standards and regulations regarding motor vehicle safety and operations to Drivers as defined by the Fleet Manager and Nordex Leadership.
  • Address inquiries and issues from drivers and others promptly and professionally.
  • Manages timely and accurate record keeping systems.
  • Ability to determine costs on purchase orders

Requirements:

  • Associates in business or Technical Certification or a combination of academic work and relevant work experience
  • Fleet Experience Preferred
  • Experience in managing a large fleet of vehicles (100+) and resolving issues related to utilization, maintenance, leasing, and repairs is preferred.
  • Travel to sites and locations as required (<10% travel)
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.

  • Excellent knowledge of safety rules, regulations, laws, and precautions involved in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and related equipment

  • Effective change and conflict management. Proven decision-making ability with balanced risk taking. Applies expertise to get results leveraging group interaction and areas of specialty.
  • English communication skills – Spanish beneficial
  • SAP Knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
  • PC Computer skills (MS Office) required.
  • Strong Excel Skills Required.
