Position Summary:
As a Reliability Specialist, you will perform strategic tasks to ensure that plant operations are carried out effectively and efficiently by managing and supporting the development and delivery of reliability and performance analysis services which integrate and utilize data from our existing data and information systems, in conjunction with supporting the development of appropriate tools and methods which focus on maximizing wind farm revenues through continuous improvement. Risks that can cause operational and safety issues are identified and managed by the Reliability Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Leads focused activities analyzing high-frequency failures and issues impacting fleet availability to determine predictable indicators to avoid costly repairs and downtime
- Analyzes data to develop and present improvement actions to improve product performance, uptime and reduce operating cost
- Supports failure analysis and issue resolution throughout the product life cycle
- Prioritizes technical issues and distributes workload to avoid catastrophic failures. Employs statistical analysis to analyze turbine and Service operations performance; evaluate records and prepare reports for management indicating results, conclusions, and recommendations
- Collaborates with reliability and data analysis community to develops predictive models using existing hardware, software, and data from operational fleet
- Identifies and implements historical data server needs for analysis activities
- Reports in a prompt manner high-risk areas that affect product and service reliability
- Develops and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monitors product improvements for effectiveness and reliability improvements

Requirements:
- BS degree in an engineering or technical discipline and 4 years of maintenance and reliability experience in wind turbine environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CRE is desirable
- Six Sigma and/or ASQ Certification preferred
- Experience in the areas of statistical methods, FMEA, DOE, and variance analysis and process qualifications
- Required experience in SCADA, Work Order, and Database systems
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, Minitab, R, SQL, or other statistical and data mining analysis programs
- Demonstrated ability in utilizing historical data and visualization tools, such as windfarm SCADA, for detailed analysis of equipment operations and performance
- Ability to conduct product reliability and failure prediction analysis
- Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels internally
- Professionally represent the company when dealing with domestic and international colleagues, customers, and suppliers
- Demonstrated ability to manage several activities/projects at once, organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare plans and reports
- Follow oral and written instructions in English and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively to superiors, peers, and subordinates
- Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 265 LBS. or less
- Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
