POSITION SUMMARY:
As Project Leads, Blades, you will be responsible to lead special projects designated within the Services Department, specially focused on Blades Projects. Special Projects are considered Blade Inspections/Repairs Campaigns.
Responsibilities:

Ensure all projects meet or exceed Nordex HSE legal requirements.

Overall HSE responsibilities for Nordex activity at the project:
- Manage and/or generate HSE/CINC tickets
- HSE Incident Reporting & HSE Incident Investigation
- Risk assessment definition
- Control of High-Risk Work
- HSE Training compliance for any Nordex or subcontractor at the project
- Nordex Specific Site Orientation
- Training workers on site or task specific information or Nordex specific processes
- Safety Supervision (Safety Walks, JSEAs review, PPE inspections)
- Lead LOTO process and records
- Hazardous Material handling/management

Manage day to day activities onsite and remotely up to 5 projects collectively.

Assist the onsite project planning and execution with the site Manager of Blade projects within the Services department

Support the Project Managers on assigned projects

Maintain and report Project Schedule.

Supports schedule and necessary Inspection campaigns and process the findings

Assist in the coordination of blade/large components repair campaigns based on findings
-
Compliance with defined schedule from the Project Manager.

Perform audits and quality control

Assist in the management of costs, monitor and validate contractor timesheets

Assist in the coordination and supervision of manpower and resources on-site

Communicate project status to Site Management to facilitate customer communications

Coordination and implementation of technical solutions (retrofits) in cooperation with the Engineering and Technical Services departments

Follow standard Nordex Project Management processes

Perform pertinent operational and departmental tasks as required

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in technical or engineering field preferred but will consider relevant work experience in lieu of degree
-
Relevant experience managing several activities/projects at once, organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare plans and reports.

Experience with the coordination of subcontractor resources internationally and domestically

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and intercultural skill
-
Strong computer skills to include MS Office suite (i.e. Excel, Word, Ppt.)

Must possess a thorough knowledge of service processes (Operations, Maintenance, Customer Responsiveness, and Engineering) and quality assurance principles.

Highly motivated and business orientated

Capable of working independently

Travel to project sites as required (up to 75% travel)
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport
- Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 265lbs. max.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
- Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
- This position requires fieldwork and is in a wind farm environment, primarily during normal business hours. However, the site operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which will include changes of shift, overtime, and includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and humidity. Ability to climb turbine towers daily (up to 100meters) as required. Participate in an on-call schedule. Willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and on short notice during planned/unplanned/emergency site outages. Helps in all areas of facility operations as directed by the Area Services Manager. Willing to travel approximately 5-10% for training and assist other Wind Farm sites when needed.

Work may involve lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but is not limited to: eye safety glasses; hearing protectors; steel-toe boots; and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
The pay for this role is exempt at $72k - $82k annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
