Main Component Exchange & Tooling Technician

Do you thrive on hands-on technical work, solving complex challenges, and working at height? Join Nordex's Main Component Exchange team and play a key role in some of the most critical operations performed on wind turbines across the Nordic region. 

As a Main Component Exchange Technician, you'll be part of a specialist team responsible for replacing and upgrading major wind turbine components such as gearboxes, generators, and main bearings. You'll work on-site across the Nordics, ensuring exchanges are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. 

YOUR TASKS 

  • Perform and support main component exchanges on wind turbines 

  • Conduct lifting operations and ensure safe execution on-site 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during exchanges 

  • Prepare, maintain, and improve specialized exchange tools and equipment 

  • Contribute to the development of new procedures, tools, and best practices 

  • Support planning, reporting, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities 

  • Promote a strong safety culture and deliver excellent quality standards 
     

YOUR PROFILE  

  • Mechanical, electrical or technical education 

  • Several years of experience working on wind turbines 

  • Hands-on experience with main component exchanges 

  • Experience with lifting operations, mobile cranes, and specialist tooling 

  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electric torque tools 

  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards 

  • Comfortable working at heights and in challenging outdoor environments 

  • Good computer skills and experience using digital tools and software 

  • A valid EU driver's license 

  • Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site, including periods away from home 

 

What we offer:

The starting salary for this position is 3,300–4,000 EUR per month, depending on previous experience and qualifications.
