Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the quality control and assurance strategy with Clients and Suppliers for tenders and projects.
Conduct risk assessments on the quality of various suppliers in order to optimize efficiency and effectiveness of surveillance activities.
Assess equivalence in different countries’ standards where practicable.
Define the minimum quality requirements and expectations for panel suppliers.
Implement the agreed surveillance inspection regime including where required:
-Attend and document Hold/Witness Point Inspections, ensuring product acceptance and advising on work and rework processes/methods
-Identify, coordinate, and manage inspection resources where required for multiple projects to ensure consistent quality oversight
-Conduct routine and random inspections to ensure quality requirements are being satisfied and proactively addressing any quality issues with Suppliers to deliver conformance
Monitor factory production process and report on progress and performance to meet the required production schedule and quality requirements.
Constructively work with Suppliers on quality improvement measure to ensure conformance and mitigate/prevent quality issues, non-conformance and defects.
Act as the primary contact for quality issues with the global client team, maintaining strong relationships.
Conduct Tier 1 and Tier 2 Supplier audits and verify the closure including reviewing the effectiveness of non-conformance and following up opportunities for improvement.
Traveling support to Client team during their visit in China coordinating and informing progress and performance with Suppliers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years working experience in a SQE role in manufacturing industry.
Proven experience in construction material and equipment manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of production process of welding, painting and structural steel products. Additional knowledge of transmission line products is preferred.
Familiarity with industry Quality standards, especially for Europe and Australia market is preferred.
Auditing diploma or lead auditor accreditation would be desirable.
Strong understanding of ISO9001 Quality standard in particular.
Excellent English communication skills (speaking and writing) to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to solve problems and handle complex technical challenges on-site.
Coordination skills and ability to influence team participation while promoting ownership and responsibilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Availability to travel as required.
