The Project Manager New Zealand is responsible for the successful delivery of wind farm projects across New Zealand, ensuring achievement of project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, budget and customer satisfaction.
The role provides overall leadership and coordination throughout the project lifecycle, acting as the primary interface between Nordex, customers, contractors and key stakeholders. The Project Manager is accountable for project execution, risk management, contractual compliance and commercial performance, while ensuring alignment with company standards and strategic objectives.
YOUR TASKS:
- Lead the successful planning, execution and delivery of wind farm projects across New Zealand, ensuring achievement of key project objectives.
- Assume full accountability for project performance, including safety, quality, schedule, budget and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the primary interface between Nordex and customers, building strong relationships and ensuring effective stakeholder communication.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary internal and external teams, including Site Management, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, HSE, Service and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations while delivering projects in line with customer requirements and Nordex standards.
- Drive commercial performance through effective cost control, forecasting, profitability optimisation and financial management.
- Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, while managing variations, claims and change orders to protect project outcomes.
- Provide clear project governance and reporting, highlighting progress, key risks, opportunities and business performance indicators.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence to support long-term project success.
YOUR PROFILE:
- 10+ years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related roles within the renewable energy, infrastructure, construction or heavy engineering sectors.
- 5+ years of experience leading large-scale projects, with full accountability for safety, quality, schedule, budget and customer satisfaction outcomes.
- Proven success delivering complex, multi-million-dollar projects from contract award through to commissioning and final handover.
- Strong commercial acumen, with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control and driving project profitability.
- Sound expertise in contract administration, change management, claims management and project risk mitigation.
- Proven ability to lead and influence customers, contractors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Management or a related discipline.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification will be highly regarded.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes at all levels.
- Results-driven and highly accountable professional, committed to safety, quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence, with the flexibility to travel across New Zealand and the Oceania region as required.
