YOUR TASKS:

  • Develop and maintain in-house Python libraries and desktop applications to assist in steady and unsteady aerodynamic design and analysis of airfoils and blades.
  • Coordinate the unsteady aerodynamics efforts in other areas within the company: loads, controller, …
  • Define the methods and processes to assess the unsteady aerodynamic response of our airfoils and blades, and possibly other wind turbine parts subject to unsteady aerodynamic forces.
  • Develop the process to calculate the unsteady aerodynamic response of airfoils using engineering methods, Beddoes-Leishman and others
  • Develop the process to define and assess unsteady aerodynamic models: dynamic stall, dynamic inflow, etc., used in our BEM and BEM-like aeroelastic stability and response software.
  • Develop the process to calculate the unsteady aerodynamic response of airfoils, blades and other wind turbine parts using CFD.
  • Calculate unsteady aerodynamic responses using all the methods above.
  • Assess the methods and processes above with existing or new wind tunnel data and campaigns.
  • Participate in research projects and activities, both internal and external.

 

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Aeronautical Engineer (M.Sc.) or similar.
  • Team-work-oriented.
  • Deep knowledge of aerodynamics and especially unsteady aerodynamics, applied to wind turbine blades and airfoils.
  • Proven programming skills (we use Python, other languages are a plus).
  • Self-organized and self-driven personality with the ability to handle complex problems.
  • Ability to work in multilingual and multicultural.
  • English fluently, Spanish or German is a plus.
  • Experience: preferably 5+ years in professional work or research.
