Lead Technician (m/f/d)

Nordex Latvia is currently seeking to expand their team. Your primary duties as the Lead technician involve the repair and maintenance of turbines for two-thirds of your time, as well as the coordination of a team of technicians to ensure the completion of allocated tasks within specified timeframes and to the required standards. You, as lead technician, are responsible for reporting to the Local Manager on all operative tasks at the site to guarantee that the turbines are maintained to the highest standard and meet the contractual availability for the farm.

 

YOUR TASKS:

  • Ensuring contractual availability of wind farms in their area
  • Analyzing defects on wind turbine generators where necessary in communication with local operations manager (LOM) and other technicians
  • Autonomously making repairs of turbines as well as carrying out complex repairs with support of LOM/ back office
  • Carrying out planned maintenances and inspection activities
  • Filling out reports and check lists to keep LOM and customers informed of site activities
  • Documentation and completion of Snag Lists from maintenance, project management and customers 
  • On-the-job training of new technicians in the area
  • Cooperating with customer and site management
  • Prioritizing emergency works to minimize downtime and costs
  • Coordinating local teams and vehicles
  • Keeping track of condition and level of local stock and tools
  • Supervising sub-contractors at site in cooperation with the other service technicians
  • Commenting and adjusting the availability report
  • Daily briefing with the team

 

Your Profile

  • Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship
  • Driving license 
  • Computer literacy, able to use MS Office, SAP MI as well as in-house databases and workload management system
  • Speak fluent Latvian and English
  • Experience in coordinating a team 
  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Tolarance of frustration and the ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Systematic problem-solving behavior, strong communication skills, as well as planning & organizing skills
  • Customer-orientated mindset and a result-oriented style of work
  • Willingness to travel
