Quality Engineer, Blades (m/f/d)

Summary: 

The incumbent will be responsible for managing non-conforming blade, blade repairs or blade parts and/or non-conforming processes at various sites in North America. Performing supplier or subcontractor audits and inspections, as well as collaborate in the supplier or parts qualification.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the services provided to the customer meets internal, external and regulatory requirements
  • Organize, perform and coordinate inspection activities at the wind farms or suppliers.
  • Employ statistical analysis to analyze methods of inspection, testing and service quality; evaluate records and prepare reports for quality, engineering, or management, including; results, conclusions and recommendations
  • Perform supplier qualification and continuous improvement audits.
  • Manage non-conformities/commercial incidents and claims.
  • Support Safety to provide an adequate and safe working environment
  • Lead the resolution of Service’s quality problems through disciplined problem-solving methods
  • Assure compliance with company quality practices
  • Generate and present periodic reports to the management team
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in technical or engineering field, or 7 years of equivalent experience as Quality Assurance on blade manufacturing or blade service.
  • Prior experience in a Quality Assurance blade manufacturing capacity
  • Up to 25% travel
  • Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy
  • ASQ Certified and Certified ISO auditor preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001
  • Demonstrated ability to read blade and blade blueprints
  • Computer skills to include MS Office
  • Preferred to possess a thorough knowledge of service processes (Operations, Maintenance, Customer Responsiveness, and Engineering).
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of quality assurance principles.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels internally and with supplier leadership
  • Represent the company in a professional manner when dealing with domestic and international suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, and to prepare plans and reports
  • Able to work independently
  • Must meet the weight requirement of safety gear, 265 lbs. or less.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
