As a Wind Farm Controller (WFC) Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d), you support the successful commissioning and operation of wind farm control systems across international projects. You work closely with customers, grid operators, and internal specialists to ensure reliable controller integration, grid compliance, and project delivery. The role combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration in a global wind energy environment.
YOUR TASKS
- Perform global commissioning of Wind Farm Controller systems (CWE and SGCS), primarily through remote support activities
- Take responsibility for commissioning wind farm controllers, controller interfaces, and preparation of grid code testing activities
- Collaborate with customer experts to define project-specific requirements, testing procedures, and technical solutions
- Support the execution, monitoring, and successful closure of Wind Farm Controller projects
- Assist in technical discussions and negotiations with customers, subcontractors, and supplier
- Analyze system performance and troubleshoot issues using appropriate diagnostic and root cause analysis methods
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and workflows within the Windfarm Control Operations team
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or an equivalent technical qualification
- Experience with Wind Farm Controller systems, commissioning activities, and controller integration processes
- Knowledge of communication protocols and interfaces including Modbus TCP, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA, DNP3, and hardwired interfaces
- Experience with root cause analysis tools such as Wireshark, PLC commissioning, Grid Code Testing, and PCMS (Parameter Configuration and Management System)
- Certification as an electrically skilled person (Elektrofachkraft) is beneficial
- Knowledge of wind turbine technologies and renewable energy systems is an advantage
- Very good communication, planning, and organizational skills with a structured and solution-oriented working style
- Fluent German and English language skills; Spanish or additional languages are considered an advantage
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel for business as required
