DEPARTMENT:  Strategy

"Lead the AI-driven transformation of a global wind turbine manufacturer — turning operational complexity into competitive advantage."

We are looking for a senior leader to drive the transformation of Nordex’s global Operations through AI. In this role, you translate AI into tangible operational and financial impact across core functions such as Business & Production Planning, Industrialization, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Quality Management, and Logistics, ensuring scalable and measurable business outcomes.

Working in close alignment with the COO, you will play a central role in shaping strategic priorities and translating them into operational impact across the organization.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You act at the intersection of Operations, Digital, and IT, driving the transformation of core operational functions through AI. The focus is on execution, scale, and measurable results—not experimentation. You ensure that AI initiatives move beyond isolated pilots into industrialized solutions embedded in end-to-end operational processes and aligned with strategic priorities.

YOUR TASKS

Drive End-to-End Operational Transformation
• You redesign key operational processes across Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics leveraging AI and advanced analytics
• You identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases with clear P&L contribution and measurable operational outcomes
• You ensure transformation is business-driven, focusing on performance improvement rather than technology implementation alone

Define and Evolve the AI Operating Model
• You establish and continuously develop a scalable AI operating model for Operations including governance and decision-making frameworks
• You define prioritization mechanisms and roadmaps to focus on initiatives with the highest business impact
• You align Operations, IT, Digital, and external partners to ensure seamless collaboration and execution

Deliver Industrialized Execution
• You lead AI initiatives from concept through pilot to full-scale deployment across regions, plants, and functions
• You ensure AI solutions are embedded into real workflows, systems, and operational decision-making processes
• You deliver measurable improvements in cost competitiveness, productivity, throughput, lead times, and planning accuracy

Enable Adoption and Change
• You drive adoption of AI-enabled processes across global Operations and support the shift to data-driven decision making
• You align senior stakeholders and operational teams around new ways of working in a complex industrial environment
• You support change management efforts to ensure sustainable implementation and overcome organizational resistance

Build Capabilities and Organization
• You define required skills, roles, and capabilities for AI-enabled Operations and contribute to capability building
• You collaborate in building and guiding a cross-functional transformation setup across Operations, Digital, and IT
• You leverage internal and external expertise to accelerate delivery and support long-term capability development

YOUR PROFILE

Professional Experience
• Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business or related field, or equivalent qualification
• Strong experience in Operations, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain within complex, global industrial organizations
• Proven track record in delivering transformation initiatives with measurable operational and financial impact
• Experience in industries such as wind energy, renewable energy, automotive, or heavy manufacturing is a strong advantage

AI & Digital Expertise
• Solid understanding of AI / GenAI applications in Operations including planning optimization, automation, and decision support
• Good knowledge of data environments, system integration, and operational IT landscapes
• Ability to translate AI capabilities into scalable business value with a strong execution focus rather than theoretical use cases

Leadership & Personal Skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate across corporate, regional, and plant-level organizations
• Excellent communication skills bridging business and technology perspectives effectively
• High level of execution focus, pragmatism, and ownership in complex transformation environments
• Strong change management capabilities with experience supporting adoption in industrial and operational contexts
