Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Safety & Environment Intern 

Contract Type:  12-month Internship starting in Summer 2026

Location: Didsbury, Manchester

Hours: 37 hours per week

 

 

How can you make a difference?

The Safety & Environment Intern will work with the HSE team here at Nordex UK & Ireland to support with the delivery of safety and environmental initiatives across the Nordex UK & Ireland region.

This is a 12-month internship for a placement student who is looking to gain hands on experience in a busy environment to develop their skills in Safety, compliance and sustainability or a recent graduate

 

What will you be doing? 

 

  • Supporting the Health, Safety and Environment team with hazard identification and audits
  • Supporting risk assessments, safety briefings and toolbox talks
  • Contributing to incident investigations by gathering information and document finding
  • Supporting compliance activities related to environmental legislation and company policies
  • Help the team with environmental awareness campaigns
  • Updating HSE dashboards, monthly reports and trackers
  • Conducting research on best practice, emerging regulations and sustainability initiatives
  • Helping to promote a positive safety culture
  • Supporting business improvement projects
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting with adhoc tasks to support the wider Nordex team

 

 

What are we looking for? 

 

You will be currently studying a Environmental, Health & Safety or Sustainability degree and be looking to undertake a placement as part of your degree or you will of recently graduated with a relevant degree and be looking for work experience in this area.

 

Other skills and behaviours required for this role include: 

  • Strong organisational and attention to detail skills
  • Strong interest in Safety, Health and Environmental management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • AI knowledge and how it can be used to improve efficiency
  • High level of competency in using MS Office packages
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn

 

 

What we can offer you?
