Nordex UK & Ireland team, headquartered in Manchester, undertakes sales, projects and service within the Northern Europe region.  Projects range from small contracts (small number of wind turbines where our responsibility is to supply and erect the turbines) to large, turn-key projects where Nordex is responsible for building the entire multi-turbine wind farm, inclusive of Civil and Electrical balance of plant works. Projects range in value from £5m-£500m. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Closely cooperate with Director PM Region, Reporting to Director Project Management UK/IE
  • Disciplinary/Functional lead of CPM’s, Contract Managers in the Region incl. staff development and integration of new team members
  • Responsible for commercial/financial project execution of all projects in the Area – containing contract -, liquidity -, payment security -, subcontractor -, insurance and claims management as well as cost planning and controlling per project.
  • Responsible for PM Risk and Opportunity Management in the Region
  • Responsible for Cash In Performance and Accounts Receivable Management being main drivers for Working Capital
  • Operational Involvement in larger projects / customer claims as situation may require.
  • Coordination of “New Country” activities in the Region for analysis and sales phase as well as for set up phase.
  • Steering of Region with given KPI’s/Meeting Structure
  • Implementation of new processes, structures, standards adapted to specific PM Region

Location

The job will be located in our UK head office in Didsbury, South Manchester. You will expect to undertake some travel throughout the UK and Ireland with occasional visits to Northern Europe and Germany. Nordex operates hybrid working arrangements.

 

 

The Candidate

  • You will ideally be qualified to degree level or equivalent in one of the following disciplines: Legal; financial; quantity surveying.
  • The determination, creativity and good humour to work through the inevitable challenges we face in a rapidly growing and changing business & market.
  • The ability to lead a team, developing team members to create a strong, successful, and enjoyable team.
  • Clear communication skills in both verbal and written English.
  • Ability to read complex contracts and work as part of a team to create a Nordex position
  • Ability to look at financial data and to relate it to real world situations
  • Negotiation skills to avoid or mitigate claims from others and to exploit opportunities as they arise.
  • Strong IT skills, especially MS Excel.  Previous experience of SAP is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to work with different business cultures.  In particular, a knowledge of German language and culture is an advantage.
