We are currently looking to recruit a Bid Manager - Team Lead on a Permanent  basis to join the team at our office in Didsbury, Manchester

 

Please note although our offices are based in Manchester we are happy to accept application from candidates in locations across the UK due to our hybrid working practices.   

 

How can you make a difference?

 

The Bid Manager – Team Lead role is a crucial part of the Project Management function at Nordex.  Leading a team of Bid Managers working as part of the extended sales team and working with the customer to develop a project execution strategy and programme that is competitive and executable as budgeted, planned and contracted.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

 

Key responsibilities for this role include: 

 

  • Leading the Bid team within the Region including taking responsibility for the line management of the team including supporting personal and professional development.
  • Working alongside the Head of Sales to manage and prioritise the workload of the team on a week-to-week basis and planning for future resource requirements.
  • Leading process developments and improvements within Bid Management
  • Working alongside procurement and supplier management colleagues to develop and implement the best supplier strategy for the projects/business.
  • Developing and defining the delivery, installation, and takeover strategy for the wind farm
  • Working with internal functions to deliver a competitive and realistic project budget (project team, site infrastructure, logistics, crane and installation, commissioning, balance of plant)
  • Developing and delivering a project programme
  • Producing a resource plan where resources have been secured and accurately budgeted.
  • Clear, agreed project scope (aligned internally, with the customer and with suppliers)
  • Managing the contract risk evaluation and risk and opportunity management plan during the sales phase of the project for the PM scope.
  • Working within the division to continually improve the way that we work and to share best practice within the region

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

Our ideal candidate will have strong experience of leading teams and have worked in a similar Bid Management position working on multi million EUR contracts.

 

You will have Project Management experience, preferably within the wind energy sector and/or turnkey construction projects and have a technical background with a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.

 

You will have a good knowledge and appreciation of the local regulations and legal requirements regarding construction works and HS&E.  Experience of working with/administering/negotiating contracts would also be an advantage.

 

You will be a people person who enjoys getting to know people and working with them to use and develop their talents, whilst also building strong working relationships within Nordex and externally with our clients. 

 

A high level of detail is crucial for this role along with having excellent organisational skills and a high level of competence in working with Project Planning software such as MS Project or Primavera

 

 

This role will involve some travel which includes nights away from home occasionally.
