Customs Manager (m/f/d)

DEPARTMENT:  Controlling / Finance



As part of our Commercial Project Management team, you will ensure smooth customs clearance of wind turbines into the country of installation in Europe and ensure compliance with customs and excise processes.

In particular you will


  • Handle the customs processing of all import shipments in compliance with the statutory customs regulations and company guidelines
  • Collect and review the import documents provided by our worldwide factories and suppliers
  • Ensure a correct and timely payment of import VAT and customs duty in order to avoid waiting times in port of unloading; investigate potential simplifications of the process
  • Support the proper completion of re-exports of temporary imports of tools and transport equipment
  • Communicate with customs brokers and forwarding agents
  • Closely cooperate with internal stakeholders such as Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain & Tax Department
  • Act as an advisor for customs topics in markets new to Nordex, define the import process and support the selection of a customs broker




  • You have successfully completed your commercial training or studies with a focus on logistics, customs, supply chain, foreign trade or comparable and have gained several years of professional experience in the above-mentioned field
  • You have a very good general knowledge in the field of customs; you are aware of the importance of the topic for the company
  • A hands-on mentality and conscientious and responsible work are among your strengths
  • You have strong communication skills, an optimistic mindset and enjoy building relationships with various stakeholder
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and good written and spoken German and English round off your profile.
