Position Summary:

As Product Value Manager for North America, you play a crucial role in shaping Nordex's domestic product strategy. Working closely with our North American Sales team and our customers, you will assess the best product strategy for each project, identify new value-creating ideas and provide crucial input for product development decisions and sales strategy. You will be part of our Project Optimisation department, a team of experts that works on innovative ideas to improve Nordex’ product competitiveness in important market segments and customer projects. With this goal in mind, we are analysing technical and commercial opportunities to continuously reduce the Cost of Energy (COE). Within your function you will report to the Director Project Optimization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts market studies, competitor benchmarking, and scenario analysis to contribute to Nordex's NA product strategy, ensuring our products maintain a competitive edge.
  • Optimizes Nordex’ product offering for specific customer projects, from a total value and Cost of Energy perspective, hand in hand with our sales team and customers.
  • Identifies and presents new product solutions in customer meetings.
  • Supports sales in proving the value of our innovative products.
  • Captures ideas and customer requirements to feed them into our new developments.
  • Prepares and presents strategic decision proposals to top management, influencing key decisions that shape Nordex's product strategy.
  • Travels to project sites and regular customer meetings required (approximately 30% of time).

Requirements:

  • Completed college studies in the field of Engineering (M.Sc. or equivalent) or a Business/Economics degree with a strong technical background.
  • Several years of experience in a sales support, project procurement or product strategy position
  • Deep understanding of the holistic business case of a wind project and its value drivers and a strong technical background to understand the implication of customer requirements on product configurations.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, enabling you to present complex information effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Must demonstrate an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, demonstrating the ability to drive initiatives to success within a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English is essential, while proficiency in German and/or Spanish would be advantageous.
  • Our manufacturing facilities are in West Branch, IA and we have offices in Chicago, IL. One of these locations would be preferred but it’s not a hard requirement.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international locations to project sites and on business as required with the ability to obtain a passport.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.

 

The pay for this role is exempt at $122k - $135k annually with up to a 15% bonus.  Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
