Senior Financial Analyst, Project Competitiveness (m/f/d)

Position Summary:

As Senior Financial Analyst, Project Competitiveness, you will develop and implement financial models for wind energy projects.  You will analyze past and present financial data of Nordex projects and estimate future revenues and expenditures to support commercial and sales decisions.  In this role, you will also be responsible for ensuring the cost competitiveness of Nordex USA wind turbines in the North American market.  This is a critical role in the continued success of the company working closely with all aspects of the business including Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, and the Executive Leadership team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate activities across the global supply chain, logistics, project management, engineering, sales and finance stakeholders to holistically analyze project economics and develop complete assumptions for project models.
  • Facilitate and manage the relationship between the commercial sales team and operations teams to support sales request activity and enhance the competitiveness of commercial offers.
  • Produce financial valuation models and customer quotations.
  • Create project schedules based on collaboration with global production planning, logistics and project management teams, for use in developing the cost and cash flow assumptions in customer quotations.
  • Create and maintain project cash flow projections.
  • Produce cost trend analysis to model insights into cost reduction and guide improved decision-making.
  • Meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supports senior leadership team on ad hoc analysis and reports as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field; MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in areas of financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities where problems are complex.
  • Ability to identify areas of financial risk, inform management and develop contingency plans.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills.
  • Ability to work in an environment of continuous change and different challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to boil down trends into concise operational reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the staff within the company.
  • Positive and professional attitude and strong leadership skills.
  • Travel to onsite meetings as required (<5% travel).
