Senior Executive - Inbound Logistics

YOUR TASKS: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Executive – Import Logistics & Trade Compliance to manage inbound logistics operations, import customs clearance, trade compliance, and export incentive schemes. The role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability for manufacturing operations through efficient coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders while maintaining compliance with DGFT, Customs, EOU, FTWZ, Advance Authorization, and EPCG regulations.

 

1. Inbound Shipment Management

  • Monitor and coordinate inbound shipments from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Ensure timely movement of raw materials, consumables, and indirect materials to support production plans.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve transit delays.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, shipping lines, and suppliers.

2. Import & Customs Coordination

  • Manage import documentation, customs clearance, and delivery of imported materials.
  • Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and customs authorities for seamless clearance.
  • Knowledge in FTWZ operations
  • Verify Bill of Entry, Invoice, Packing List, COO, BL/AWB, and other import documents.
  • Knowledge in import transport frames under RE Bond Scheme.
  • Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy requirements.

3. Advance Authorisation (Advance Licence) Management

  • Monitor imports under Advance Authorisation & EPCG (Capital Goods) schemes.
  • Maintain records for duty-free imports against export obligations.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Export, Finance, and Customs teams for licence utilization.
  • Track licence balance, validity, and closure requirements.
  • Support tax team for preparation of redemption and EODC documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with DGFT regulations to avoid penalties and duty liabilities.

4. EOU (Export Oriented Unit) Compliance

  • Maintain records of imports and domestic procurement under EOU provisions.
  • Coordinate customs bonding, warehousing, and statutory compliance activities.
  • Support annual and periodic EOU audits.
  • Ensure proper documentation for duty-free procurement and imports.
  • Track material consumption and reporting as per EOU requirements.

5. Logistics Cost & Performance Management

  • Monitor freight cost, customs charges, demurrage, detention, and warehousing expenses.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives.
  • Evaluate logistics service provider performance.
  • Support freight budgeting and cost analysis.

6. Supplier & Forwarder Management

  • Follow up with suppliers for shipment readiness.
  • Conduct regular reviews with freight forwarders and CHAs.
  • Track forwarder KPIs and service levels.
  • Escalate recurring delays and service failures.

7. Quality & Non-Conformance Handling

  • Coordinate with SQA and Warehouse teams for damaged, wet, short, or rejected materials.
  • Support return shipments, supplier claims, and insurance claims.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

8. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports.
  • Track critical KPIs and shipment status.
  • Maintain import and export logistics dashboards.
  • Provide management updates on material availability and logistics risks         

 

YOUR PROFILE:      

B.E. / MBA  in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Logistics is preferred.

7-11 years of experience in Supply Chain/Operations Management from manufacturing/ engineering/ automotive/ renewable energy/ heavy engineering or similar industrial sectors. Proven experience in import logistics, international trade compliance, customs clearance, and supply chain operations.
