Position Title: Senior Engineer - Material Management (Wind Projects)
Role Overview: The Senior Engineer - Material Management serves as the central contact point for all materials required at wind turbine construction sites during installation and commissioning phase. The role ensures that project‑specific material needs are properly planned, ordered, tracked, and delivered on time. It also coordinates across multiple internal functions to maintain material readiness, optimize inventories, and support successful project execution. This position offers strong exposure to global operations and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central contact for urgent material needs from wind turbine construction sites
- Create demands, monitor, and manage project‑relevant material orders in SAP
- Ensure on‑time delivery and proactively address bottlenecks, delays, or supply risks
- Coordinate material interfaces between installation teams and the service department
- Analyse and optimize PM inventories, considering exchange groups, variants, and historical consumption
- Collaborate with adjacent departments (Service Spare Parts Management, Production, Site Management, Logistics, Quality) on operational and process topics
- Develop project‑specific material management plans and ensure alignment with project schedules
- Participate in material‑related coordination meetings to review progress and open topics
- Drive continuous improvement in material management processes and data quality
- Contribute to additional projects and tasks related to material planning and supply chain performance
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Required 3 - 5 years of experience in the composite, renewable energy, or blade manufacturing, automobile industries.
- Strong experience in material management, project supply chains, or procurement
- Solid knowledge of SAP (MM or relevant modules) or similar ERP systems
- Proven ability to manage suppliers, follow up on deliveries, and resolve operational issues
- Structured approach with strong planning, prioritization, and analytical skills
- Effective communicator, able to coordinate with international teams and stakeholders
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple topics in parallel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in EPC projects, wind energy, or heavy manufacturing supply chains
- Exposure to global operations and cross‑regional coordination
- Knowledge of spare parts management or service supply chains
- Experience in inventory analysis and planning tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar)
- Ability to contribute to process improvements and continuous‑improvement initiatives
