Job Description: Project Manager – Maintenance, Lean & Innovation Projects

Position Title: Project Manager

Reporting To:  Plant Director 

1. Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong expertise in Plant Maintenance, Lean Manufacturing, Cost-Out Initiatives, and Innovation Projects, preferably from wind turbine blade manufacturing or heavy engineering/automotive industries.

The ideal candidate will lead cross‑functional projects across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity, driving end‑to‑end implementation through structured project management and lean methodologies.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute large-scale engineering, maintenance, and innovation projects across multiple plants (e.g., installation, commissioning, layout upgrades, cost-out initiatives).
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables with clear execution plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans for smooth project rollouts.
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure projects meet ROI and performance expectations.
  • Implement Lean tools and methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 3P, Kanban, Single‑Piece Flow, Quick Changeover, Poka‑Yoke, etc.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to reduce cycle time, operator motion waste, breakdowns, energy consumption, and overall process inefficiencies.
  • Lead cost‑out programs and track savings across plants.
  • Manage installation and commissioning of new machinery, including VARTM technology equipment, infusion systems, carbon pultrusion systems, cranes, hoists, and SPMs.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce MTTR, improve MTBF, and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Oversee TPM, Preventive, Predictive, Condition‑Based & Time‑Based Maintenance activities.
  • Ensure technical support and troubleshooting for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt Certified).
  • Hands‑on experience in plant maintenance, SPM machines, and project execution.
  • Leadership abilities with proven experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to handle large-scale projects independently with minimal supervision.

5. Educational Qualification

  • BE / BTech – Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
  • MBA – HR / Operations / Industrial Management (preferred)
  • Additional certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or Maintenance Systems are an advantage.
