Role Summary

The Process BOM Engineer is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), Bill of Process (BOP), and Routing structures in SAP and Siemens Teamcenter PLM. The role requires close collaboration with Process Engineering, Production, Sourcing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure all engineering and process changes are accurately reflected in ERP/PLM systems.
This role plays a critical part in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), operational efficiency, and data accuracy across global manufacturing operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

BOM, BOP & Routing Management

  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), Bill of Process (BOP), and Material Master Data, including MRP Area, storage location, and work scheduling parameters.
  • Update Production Versions, work centers, alternative BOMs, and ensure alignment between BOM and Routing.
  • Create and maintain Routing/BOP based on setup time, manpower requirement, and process sequence.
  • Assign material items operation‑wise in Routing as per the designated BOM structure.

SAP S4HANA & PLM Administration

  • Handle BOM, Routing, and Material Master activities in SAP S4HANA – Production Planning & Material Management modules.
  • Extract and analyze SAP and Teamcenter reports to ensure data accuracy and support operational planning.
  • Create materials in Siemens Teamcenter, initiate workflows, and confirm successful data transfer to SAP.
  • Support Sourcing team by ensuring PIR accuracy and material readiness for BOM updates.

Change Management & Engineering Control

  • Manage BOM Change Requests (CR) with SCM and coordinate serial implementation.
  • Update BOM based on approved changes and inform Warehouse/Material Management teams for revised pick/issue lists.
  • Participate in model configuration meetings and update BOM, Routing, and Material Master Data accordingly.
  • Perform ECO/MECO handling and Teamcenter workflow management.
  • Execute global Phase-In/Phase-Out and material replacement per Transition Management guidelines.
  • Initiate SAP cleansing for phase-out items and ensure replacement items are correctly updated.

NPI, Trials & Production Support

  • Actively participate in SAP project stand-up meetings and review production order trial reports.
  • Support production by resolving BOM, routing assignment issues, and maintaining continuous operations.
  • Handle multitasking BOM activities and execute parallel BOM updates without impacting production.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to reduce overconsumption and meet global usage targets.

Costing, Consumption & Reporting

  • Finalize BOM process wastage weight supporting cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Perform cost comparison between previous and current BOM revisions.
  • Update monthly commodity consumption trends based on SAP usage data.
  • Identify non-BOM items based on variable consumption and coordinate Min/Max stock updates.

Global Collaboration & Documentation

  • Revise local MBOM/BOP in Teamcenter and ensure proper transfer to SAP with validation.
  • Create Collaboration Context in Teamcenter linking BOP and MBOM structures.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with organizational standards and supports audit readiness.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Change Management, ECO/MECO, and engineering workflows.
  • Hands-on expertise in BOM, BOP, Routing, and Material Master Data.
  • Proficiency in SAP – Production Planning (PP) and Material Management (MM) modules.
  • Experience working with PLM systems (Siemens Teamcenter).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNOW for workflow support.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analytics and reporting.
  • Good understanding of MRP processes and procurement data flow.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3-8 years of relevant experience in BOM/BOP engineering, manufacturing process engineering, or ERP/PLM data management in Blade Industries.
  • Experience in SAP S4HANA and Teamcenter is mandatory.
