Job Description – Microsoft 365 Solutions Architect

Location: Chennai, India

Role Purpose: The Microsoft 365 Solutions Architect designs and leads the implementation of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant outcomes. The role provides architectural direction for solution design, custom development and integration (e.g., SPFx, Microsoft Graph, Azure services), and supports the global M365 team by translating business requirements into implementable solution designs and user stories. In the matrix setup, the role contributes to global delivery while being locally supported by the Chennai hub line management.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design:

  • Lead the architectural design for Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Define solution patterns, non-functional requirements, and implementation guardrails (security, performance, resiliency, maintainability).
  • Assess and prioritize business requirements and transform them into epics/user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

Build, Extend & Integrate:

  • Develop and maintain internal solutions using Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.
  • Extend Microsoft 365 capabilities through custom development (e.g., SharePoint Framework (SPFx), TypeScript, REST APIs, Microsoft Graph API).
  • Leverage Azure services for integrations and automation (e.g., Functions, Logic Apps, Entra ID/Azure AD).

Quality, Security & Compliance by Design:

  • Ensure performance, security, and compliance of developed solutions in alignment with Nordex standards.
  • Contribute to governance for environments, access controls, and lifecycle policies for solutions on Microsoft 365/Power Platform.

Engineering Practices & Documentation:

  • Define and apply CI/CD and DevOps practices for Microsoft 365/Power Platform developments where feasible.
  • Develop and maintain solution architecture documentation, technical designs, and operational runbooks.

Collaboration & Enablement:

  • Collaborate with global M365 consultants and stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery and adoption.
  • Support knowledge transfer and technical mentoring within the global team and Chennai hub.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Power Platform and Microsoft 365 development (typically 5+ years).
  • Proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven), Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Solid knowledge of SharePoint Framework (SPFx), TypeScript, and REST APIs.
  • Experience with Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Entra ID/Azure AD).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices in Microsoft environments.
  • Experience with Copilot Studio or developing agents with Azure AI is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication in English.

Experience & Qualifications

  • University degree in IT, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in custom development/integration for M365 (e.g., SPFx, Graph API, Azure Functions).
