Group Lead - Global PLM Chennai (Teamcenter)

YOUR TASKS

  • Lead, coordinate, and prioritize the daily work of the local Global PLM team in Chennai, ensuring focus on agreed objectives and timely execution
  • Act as the main local point of contact for Global PLM activities in Chennai, providing direction, clarification, and escalation handling when needed
  • Ensure highquality operational support for PLM Teamcenter users, in coordination with the internal PLM team and the outsourced firstlevel support provider
  • Coordinate, monitor, and continuously improve the collaboration with the external firstlevel support team, leveraging local proximity and cultural alignment
  • Support and guide the System Architect and PLM Inhouse Consultants in their tasks, helping translate priorities into concrete actions
  • Contribute handson to PLM topics when required, including analysis, solution discussions, and support of critical issues or initiatives
  • Coordinate local participation in PLM projects and improvements, ensuring alignment with global standards, architecture, and ways of working
  • Actively communicate status, risks, and needs to Global PLM management
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and deliveryoriented team culture within the Chennai PLM team

 

YOUR PROFILE

You bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a comparable qualification
  • Solid experience working with Siemens Teamcenter in an engineering or industrial environment
  • Experience across operational PLM support, solution topics, and implementation or improvement initiatives
  • A strong delivery mindset, with the ability to structure work, set priorities, and follow up on execution
  • Experience working closely with teams, stakeholders, or service providers in a coordinated and goaloriented manner
  • The ability to keep teams focused and aligned in a dynamic and sometimes distracting environment
  • Very good communication skills, including the confidence to guide discussions, clarify expectations, and address issues early
  • Openness to combining leadership responsibilities with handson contribution when needed
  • Fluent English; German or Spanish are a plus

 

Nice to have / advantageous:

  • First experience in a team lead, coordination, or mentoring role (formal people management experience is not mandatory)
  • Experience working in a global or distributed team setup
  • Experience coordinating or steering external service providers or outsourced support teams
  • Knowledge of PLM integrations (e.g. CAD, ERP/SAP) and common PLM modules within Teamcenter
  • Experience in renewable energy or similar industrial sectors
  • Interest in improving ways of working through automation, reporting, analytics, or emerging technologies
  • Interest or first hands‑on experience in applying AI or data‑driven approaches in engineering or PLM‑related contexts
