Technical Sales Engineer (m/f/d)

As Sales Engineer in Global Sales Engineering you closely work together with our Global Engineering, Product Strategy and Management and Sales. You are the technical interface and make sure that all parties have the right information available to support and convince our customers and their stakeholders of our products.  

 

YOUR TASKS

 

  • Assume responsibility for one or more technical areas and become the “expert” contact for our local Sales Engineers in the different regions to go to; 

  • Share your experience and knowledge in the team and make sure that the local Sales Engineers are trained and pass the right message on to our business partners; 

  • Develop, implement and improve standards, tools and processes on a global level to facilitate the daily business of the local Sales Engineers; 

  • Support our local Sales Engineers to prepare technical proposals and to negotiate them in complex contracts with our customers and their technical advisers; 

  • Follow one or more of our key accounts and make sure that we have a full understanding of their technical needs and guide our local Sales Engineers accordingly;  

  • Make sure that technical market feedback is collected and consolidated and feed it back into our product development; 

  • Report achievements, risks and challenges on regular basis;  

  • Be actively involved in Health, Safety & Environmental aspects 

 

In your role you will report to the Director of Global Sales Engineering located in the Headquarter in Hamburg, Germany. 

Requirements profile: 

Ideally, you have a Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in electrical, communication engineering or power systems, and combine good technical knowledge with good commercial understanding.

YOUR PROFIL 

 

  • Preferably, you have gathered knowledge about grid codes, grid compliance, electrical networks or digital products, SCADA systems, Cyber Security; 

  • You gained experience in both engineering and sales (renewables, machinery, electrical) or are eager to do so;  

  • Sharing knowledge and experience combined with good or very good communication, presentation and negotiation skills is a strength of you; 

  • you have very good English communication skills in speaking and writing and preferably are fluent in German or Spanish; 

  • you are self-driven, proactive and have a process-oriented working style, with sufficient flexibility to cover the unforeseen – and are ready to work in a dynamic environment;  

  • your target is to find the best solution while working with other cultures and technical areas hand; 

  • and from time to time, you like travelling (<5% of your working time).
