Position Summary:

The Technology & Process Improvement Manager is part of the Nordex USA Service Organization and is mainly responsible for identifying improvement potential in Site Operations, keeping track of status, and addressing solutions. They will also maintain a portfolio of improvement projects that are led within the Regional Field Support department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Service Operations in achieving reliable turbine operations with availability on target.
  • Facilitate the company’s tools infrastructure to provide transparency on nonperforming turbines.
  • Determining the training needs, organizing theoretical & practical training & work with the training team to establish new training.
  • Meet regularly with the operational leadership and RFS support groups (technical support & Service Quality) to discuss operational targets, ongoing improvement, and development opportunities.
  • Managing & supporting the internal teams in various capacities to achieve operational continuity & operational efficiency.  Increase the troubleshooting competency by giving site support & optimizing processes and organizing.
  • Provide technical leadership and technical development to the operation teams.
  • Evaluate regional operational performance results and bring forward new improvement proposals to service management.
  • Technical visits to the site office & supporting Service operations.
  • Maintain an overview of Improvement Initiatives for the operative service business and the regional field support.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements:

  • Certification in electrical or mechanical engineering required or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience with wind turbine technology
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing technical teams
  • Strong communication ability, with operations and engineering teams as well as Service Management
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis in North America
  • Excellent English language skills, German or Spanish would be beneficial.
  • Mechanical, Electrical, and Control system Knowledge
  • Computer literate, Microsoft Office, SAP, databases, and workload management systems
  • Excellent in planning, organizing, systematic problem solving and End-to-End Thinking
  • High Capacity for Teamwork and Collaboration Skills
  • Strong communication ability, with operations and engineering teams as well as Service Management
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to constructively and productively work with others to achieve the best outcome for both the customer and the business.

  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
