Electrical Engineering Manager (m/f/d)

As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will lead the global electrical engineering group responsible for providing technical support on an operational engineering level, for all WTG electrical systems less the power converter.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance of Nordex’s products with local requirements by pro-actively monitoring changes to national and international standards related to the wind industry and recommending corrective actions where applicable.
  • Prepares compliant specifications and documentation.
  • Provides support for the troubleshooting of electrical issues for wind farms in service.
  • Provides project management for fleet issues. 
  • Develops instructions for technical solutions support for field implementation. 
  • Offers support for issues encountered during installation of the wind farm by developing appropriate technical solutions, as they arise.
  • Develops opportunities for in-house repair in the workshop.
  • Investigate improvements in the design of components of the WTG configurations to improve quality, reliability, and efficiency for the assembly, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the WTG. 
  • Prepares comprehensive engineering studies and reports for special assignments, as necessary.
  • Provides technical and professional engineering support services to assigned areas of responsibility.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering OR a degree from an engineering program that is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).  Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.  Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is a plus. 
  • Experience as an Engineering Manager, with an excellent electrical background, preferably with qualifications and experience in wind turbine technology.
  • Knowledge of relevant utility automation and relay protection, electrical power systems, or industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with applicable standards such as NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEC, UL/CSA, and EN norms.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate with people at all levels including our suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills and proactive attitude
  • Highly motivated and business-oriented
  • Able to work independently with the support from and in permanent cooperation with the Engineering Department in Spain and Germany.
